One of the loveliest campsites on the Ile de Ré
In the heart of the national forest covering part of the island of Ré, off the Charente Maritime coast and 800 metres from Ars en Ré, Le Cormoran is located. Its municipality counts as one of the most beautiful villages of France, but there is no doubt either that this outdoor holiday resort is one of the most beautiful campsites on Ile de Ré.
With 121 pitches and 98 holiday rentals, Le Cormoran is proud to offer a friendly and family atmosphere, rarely found in large establishments in the region. Nestling in the heart of the forest, near vineyards, fields and salt marshes which form the scenery inland on the island of Ré, this campsite offers guests staying here a very high degree of comfort and wellness.
This combination of a friendly atmosphere and high quality facilities continues to be the strength and success of the Le Cormoran campsite. Moreover, it offers a superb rental range, including the Key West mobile homes, whose design and facilities make them one of the best in the market...
A water park which makes you want to jump into the water!
As to the facilities and services, Le Cormoran makes every possible effort to please the tourist over and over again. Besides the Wi-Fi zones available in the communal areas, Le Cormoran also has its own bar – restaurant, l'Annexe, a bike hire service with adult bikes and child trailers, towels and household linen hire and baby equipment loan service. There is also a launderette area with washing machines and tumble dryers, ironing area with irons available, etc.
Le Cormoran also has a lovely heated aqua park on a human scale, consisting of a large pool with a surface area close on 250 m² and a 110 m² lagoon. This includes a paddling pool with a small slide for children, various pools for games and swimming, and a balneotherapy area with relaxation benches, swans' necks a massage river and whirlpools! Perfect for the well-being of guests looking for relaxation.
Even if this water park already makes all the kids happy, they can also have fun in one of the kids clubs of the campsite. Whether it is the mini club or the junior club, they will have fun like crazy and make new friends very fast. On-site, the very young can also make the most of a play area and other play and sports facilities on the campsite, including a city stadium ground, ping-pong tables and a tennis court. To relax, holidaymakers can head for the wellness area, with a sauna, a hammam and a herbal tea room.
Located 800 metres from one of the loveliest villages in France
The geographical location of the Le Cormoran campsite offers its guests a dual advantage, first of all they stay on the Île de Ré, one of the most famous islands of the Atlantic coast, and secondly it is near Ars en Ré. This is the largest port on the island and designated as one of the most beautiful villages in France (Les Plus Beaux Villages de France).
Although Ars en Ré is located inland, in the centre of the island, this town nonetheless has a port, that is connected to the Atlantic by a channel that flows through the salt marshes. White gold has long been the island's main economic activity.
Like the salt marshes, the coastline of the island is ideal for long walks, especially along the fine sand beaches bordering the island. On the beaches you can swim and relax, but also practice surfing, sailing and many other water sports. The closest beach to the campsite is located 500 metres away, and the Le Cormoran’s activity leaders organise stretching sessions there.
Guests on campsite Le Cormoran can also enjoy the fact that the island is no longer a real island (as a bridge connects it with the continent since 1988) and visit and discover the Charente Maritime. This Department has many tourist sites, like the city of La Rochelle, located just a few kilometres from Ile de Ré, the arsenal of Rochefort, Fouras, Fort Boyard, the island of Oléron, or even of the seaside resort of Royan.
