Interlude in one of the most beautiful campsites on Ile de Ré...
Part of the Sandaya group, Interlude is a 5 star campsite in the village of Le Bois Plage en Ré. Considered one of the finest campsites on the island of Ré, it is only separated from Les Gros Joncs, a superb sandy beach, by a simple stretch of wild sand dunes. A major attraction, appealing to holidaymakers looking for the perfect holiday resort in Charente Maritime…
A seaside campsite
Set in grounds of 7.5 hectares, away from the main built-up areas in the seaside resort of Le Bois Plage en Ré, Interlude enjoys a wild natural setting, particularly at its southern extremity, only around 50 metres from the sea but separated from it by a grassy thick dune ridge. This is crossed, here and there, by paths laid out on the sand, so holidaymakers can reach Gros Joncs beach without damaging the local flora.
On this 5-star campsite in Charente Maritime, there are numerous pitches and holiday rentals, perfectly suited to a stay as a couple, with your family or friends. The 2-star (two-shell) pitches have a surface area less than 80 m², whilst those rated 3 and 4 star (three and four shell) extend over a minimum surface area of 90 and 100 m² respectively. Lastly, the Premium pitches are 100 m² minimum, having private sanitary facilities with a WC, shower and washbasin. Separated by shrubs, these pitches are all partially shaded and connected to the electricity grid.
Holiday rentals take the form of superb timber-clad cottages, enabling them to blend perfectly into the wooded surroundings here. The most high-end, in the Premium range, are located in the Embrun area. This is entirely pedestrianised, peaceful, stylish and lush. Each of the cottages in this district has three bedrooms, two shower rooms and a total surface area of 38 m²!
Among the shops and facilities on this Ile de Ré campsite, we highlight the bar restaurant, snack bar and barbecue area. There are also EV charging points, bread and pastries available daily, a grocery, co-working area, launderette, bike hire service, etc.
Just a stone’s throw from one of the loveliest beaches on the Ile de Ré
Although located just a stone’s throw from one of the loveliest beaches on the Ile de Ré, Interlude still boasts its own water park. It features a very beautiful pool for teens and adults, as well as a pool reserved for children. In the middle of this paddling pool thrones the miniature replica of Fort Boyard, what could be better to impress and entertain the little ones!
An indoor heated balneotherapy pool allows holidaymakers to enjoy the benefits of water to feel great! And to relax them even more, the wellness area of the establishment is the place to be. With treatment rooms, a jacuzzi, sauna and hammam, this spa is sure to impress wellness lovers...
Whilst parents are at the spa, children can have fun and enjoy themselves in one of the three campsite mini clubs, open during the high season. Although the Kids Club and Juniors Club are intended for children, teens also have their own with the Teens Club. Besides activities arranged by these various clubs, youngsters can have fun on the campsite kids playground, or even make the most of a beach volleyball court or multi-sports ground. There is also a pétanque court, ping-pong tables, etc. The Gros Joncs beach, running alongside the campsite, is supervised by lifeguards all day during summer. You can indulge in numerous water sports here, particularly due to the nearby sailing centre.
The perfect ‘interlude’ in Charente Maritime
A stay on the Interlude campsite is the chance for many to achieve a childhood dream, camping on an island. The island of Ré is far from being a desert island, or cut from the world since a bridge connects it to the mainland since 1988. It is one of the most beautiful islands of France, and as such one of the places with the most tourists.
Dubbed Ré la Blanche (for the whitewashed houses) or Ré la Dorée (for its sunshine and ‘white gold’ salt produced here), covering 85 km² it is the fourth largest island in mainland France. Camping Interlude, settled on the South coast of the island of Ré, is the perfect holiday resort for anyone who wants to discover this island and its treasures, like the many wild beaches, dunes, and salt marshes. Ré also features several important cities and tourist villages, like La Flotte, Rivedoux Plage or Saint Martin en Ré.
The proximity of this luxury campsite with the bridge separating the island of Ré from the Charente Maritime also allows its residents to easily reach the mainland and to visit the main sights of the Department. The city of La Rochelle for example lies at only 20 kilometres from Interlude. South of La Rochelle, the estuary of the Charente and the former arsenal of Rochefort are both guarded by Fort Boyard, a fortress planted on the ocean, between the islands of Aix and Oléron, now used as theatre for a famous TV game show...
