A countryside campsite with direct beach access
The Camping Club La Côte Sauvage perhaps enjoys one of the loveliest settings in the region. Laid out under the maritime pines of the La Palmyre forest in the village of Les Mathes, it is located on Pointe de la Coubre, a headland located to the south-west of the Arvert peninsula in the Charente Maritime department.

It houses a museum tracing the history and way of life in the lighthouses of the Gironde estuary. The Pointe de la Coubre is also adjacent to a beach renowned for being one of the wildest on this section of coast, and one of the best surf spots in the area.
Holidaymakers staying at the Camping Club La Côte Sauvage can look to 2 lovely beaches for swimming, the Phare de la Coubre beach, as well as the Bonne Anse beach, both adjoining the campsite. The estate within which this outdoor establishment nestles, stretches out over 15.5 hectares of abundantly wooded grounds, where numerous hiking trails and various cycle tracks developed in the heart of the forest start…
