An idyllic setting for an energetic holiday
La Pinède is a high-end campsite in the Charente Maritime. Nestling in the heart of the renowned La Palmyre forest massif, it is a few minutes’ drive from the long lovely sandy beaches on the Charente coast, barely 25 kilometres from Royan, 30 kilometres from the Ile d’Oléron and 40 kilometres from Rochefort.
The 19 hectares of land, on which this campsite is located, is entirely wooded. Pines and holm oaks thus provide ideal shading for the 500 pitches at La Pinède. Three types of pitches are available on site; “Comfort”, “High Comfort” and lastly those equipped with a private sanitary block. These comprise a sink, a fridge, a wash basin, a shower as well as a separate WC.
The range of holiday rentals on this Les Mathes campsite is both impressively diverse and varied. Located on spacious and verdant sites, they take the form of spacious mobile homes, delightful caravans and pleasing furnished tents. Although the campsite may, across its ranges, pride itself in bringing comfort and privacy to holiday makers, the mobile homes in the “Premium” and “Whirlpool” ranges are most certainly the very top-of-the-range.
In 2016, owing to an extension, the “Premium” range came into existence within this 4-star open air hotel in Charente Maritime. Mobile homes in this range, located within a new area of the campsite and which are able to accommodate, depending upon their capacity, from 4 to 8 people, impeccably combine the concepts of comfort and well-being, as they are, in particular, equipped with air conditioning, a dishwater, television, a 160 cm double bed and included services such as sheets and Wi-Fi.
Even more luxurious, the mobile homes in the “Whirlpool” range have, in addition to the items mentioned previously, a whirlpool bath placed beside their terrace. Entirely private, 4 to 5 people can go in it to share relaxing and friendly moments!
Quality facilities located five minutes from the various beaches
Within this haven of greenery located five minutes from the beaches of the Atlantic coast, numerous facilities also make it possible for holidaymakers to have a memorable stay at La Palmyre. Amongst these, there are several shops and services on-site, such as a grocer's shop, a bar, a restaurant, a store selling bread and sweet breads and buns such brioches, croissants and pains au chocolat, an ice-cream seller, a takeaway snack bar and even bicycle hire.
A first-rate attraction, the water park at La Pinède stretches over an area of 600 m². It comprises a large indoor heated swimming pool, counter-current swimming river, jacuzzi and numerous waterfalls. The water slides, 5 in total, include 4 water giant water slides with heights varying between 10 and 12.5 metres and a multi-slide. In all, there are 377 metres of slides on offer for lovers of thrills and spills! Around the pools, numerous deckchairs have been set up.
Moreover there is also another swimming pool, which is part of the site's aquatic centre. This is unheated, stretching over 500 m² and consists of two large swimming pools and a paddling pool, which is equipped with water games for children.
Other leisure facilities, comprise a multi-sports field, a mini-golf course, an archery range, an area for playing boules, ping-pong tables, a beach volleyball court, a mini-farm, a children's play area, a bouncy castle and other facilities.
Activities and entertainment for the whole family.
Particularly appreciated by holidaymakers, activities and entertainment organised by this 4-star campsite at La Palmyre are as numerous as they are varied. Young people can thus have a ball by participating in games and recreational tournaments planned by the organisers of the two children's clubs in La Pinède (the “Club Noisette” for 4 to 6 year olds and the “Club Junior” for 7 to 12 year olds). These mini-clubs are open during the school holidays, so-called extra public holidays and throughout the high season.
Lively in the season from when it opens until it closes, La Pinède invites its holidaymakers to participate in different activities. These include muscle toning and aquaerobics sessions, the archery range, petanque or beach volleyball tournaments, beginners' dance classes and other activities. Concerts, shows, karaoke and cabaret nights and other recreational activities also entertain the residents during the evening.
Lastly, the location of the La Pinède campsite is idyllic for whoever wishes to discover the treasures of the Presqu’île d’Arvet. If it is simply enough for you to cross the road to go to the Luna Park of La Palmyre, this Charente Maritime seaside resort is reputed for accommodating one of the most wonderful and famous zoos in Europe. The historic arsenal of Rochefort, where there is a replica of Hermione, the La Fayette frigate, is only half an hour away by road.
