Camping Mer et Soleil d'Oléron

More than a luxury campsite

It is one of the highlights on this exceptional campsite. The 493 plots which are spread over the 12-hectare grounds are all occupied by holiday rentals. It is therefore not possible to, strictly speaking, camp on this high-end establishment, located a few hundred metres from the coast, on the South-West side of the Island of Oléron.

These holiday rentals are divided into chalets and mobile homes, of which nearly 470 have individual owners. Great care is therefore taken with the decoration and maintenance of these plots and holiday rentals. Spacious, these pitches are delightfully in bloom and separated from each other by large hedges, which gives this exceptional establishment the appearance of a large green and intimate park. 

More than a simple campsite, Mer et Soleil d'Oléron is a village club offering many services and shops, beginning with those located at the heart of the campsite, its liveliest section. Amongst these, there is a bar-restaurant, a grocery store, a takeaway service, a newspaper kiosk, a souvenir shop and other facilities.

A holiday village club

A luxury campsite par excellence, at the Mer et Soleil d’Oléron, there is also a multitude of recreational and sports facilities, starting with a superb 600 m² water park comprised of pools edged with sunbathing areas (over in excess of 800 m²!). There holidaymakers can indulge in idleness, get a tan on a sunbed or read in peace.

This water park consists of an indoor section (renovated in 2018) with its swimming pool heated to 28°C, able to revert to outdoor when the weather lends itself to this, a balneotherapy area and a mini-water slide. The outdoor section includes a swimming pool heated to 28°C, a children’s water games area, "Aquasplash”, a water slide for the very young, a lazy river, a 30-metre man-made torrent, a lagoon with a massage Jacuzzi and 3 water slides complete with turns.

Every morning, one of the pools is used for aquaerobics sessions in the high season, an original and fun way to do sports, and therefore for feeling good. From this perspective you can also visit the campsite's wellness area to relax and unwind. You can get a massage and receive numerous treatments (reflexology, massages, etc.).

The campsite's multi sports ground, with its 800 m² surface area, is one of the department’s largest. The dual children’s rope bridge, with a length of 30 metres, the pétanque court, the inflatable structures, the children’s play area of 1,500 m² with the highest rope pyramid in France (13 metres!), tennis courts, arcade games room and even the recreational and sports entertainment and activities, enable everyone to have fun and enjoy themselves.

In high season, guests can also enjoy musical foam parties in the afternoons, a great way to have a ball. The lively evenings are also a good excuse to have fun. In total, 14 activity leaders are responsible for holidaymakers’ fun each summer thanks to Zumba sessions, dance lessons, the teenagers’ club and other facilities.

On the Ile d’Oléron

Making the most of the appeal of the Ile d’Oléron and its many high-end facilities, this establishment certainly has no shortage of attractions to appeal to prospective residents. Located in the heart of the island, it is still close to the coast and the sandy beaches along the southern side of the island. The scenery is conducive to dream away, but also to rest and to swim.

A stay on campsite Mer et Soleil d'Oléron is the opportunity to discover one of the three main islands of the Charente Maritime, the other two being the Island of Ré and the Island of Aix. Bathed in sunshine throughout the year, the island, affectionately known as ‘the sunshine isle’ (‘la lumineuse’ to locals) is connected to the mainland by a bridge, offering swift access to Marennes, Royan, Rochefort and La Rochelle.

Oléron, also famous for its salt marshes, oyster parks and vineyards, presents different aspects depending on whether you're in the north or south of the island, or indeed the east or west. A boat trip around the island will be an excellent opportunity to observe its beauty, and why not discover the famous Fort Boyard?!
