A campsite open since 1980
Verébleu opened its doors in 1980, in the heart of the island of Oléron, in the community of Saint Georges d'Oléron, and has since not ceased to invest and innovate. That's why today it provides exceptional holiday conditions to its guests. 168 of the 324 pitches on the establishment are still reserved to 'real' campers. These partially shaded, lawned and spacious pitches, the smallest measuring 100 m², while the largest features 160 m², are all flat and separated by landscaped hedges on three sides.
The 146 remaining pitches are covered by rental accommodations. These rentals are mostly modern and composed of cottages or mobile homes. Comfortable and well equipped, they can accommodate couples, as well as a family or a group of friends. In addition to these cottages and mobile homes, there are also several residences for rent at this campsite. With a surface of 37 m², they count among the most luxury accommodations on le Verébleu.
An air conditioned living, flat screen TV and seats, fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher), bathroom and separate toilet, as well as three comfortable bedrooms with shutters provide extreme comfort to all the tourists staying here. Especially as these residences have a large partially covered terrace of 29 m² with barbecue, parasol, table and garden furniture.
Also, note that this 5-star outdoor establishment in Oléron offers a free unlimited WiFi connection throughout the property...
In the heart of the Island of Oléron
The water park is the true masterpiece of Verébleu, covering a surface of 2,700 m². This water park, composed of two heated pools, a huge water slide of 76 metres, a whirlpool river, a balneo area, bubble baths, waterfalls, a paddling pool with in its middle the miniature replica of the nearby Fort Boyard, will undoubtedly charm the residents. Another pool, located in another area of the campsite, is reserved for those who wish to swim in peace and quiet, far from the cries and laughter of children. It is in this pool that are organized the aquagym lessons.
These are regularly booked full, but sporty people can also work out on the multi sports ground, where volleyball, handball, basketball and badminton games are organized. The tennis courts, archery stand, mini-golf and jeu-de-boules court of le Veréblue are all illuminated in the evening, so you can enjoy these facilities until late in the evening...
Even though your holiday is the opportunity to sport and to work out, it is also the ideal period to discover new talents, and that's why residents are invited to participate in various creative and home decoration workshops!
Off the coast of the Charente Maritime
Although it is settled in the heart of the Island of Oléron, off the coast of Charente Maritime, the campsite Verébleu is all the same close to the coast and the tourist beaches. Barely three kilometres separate the establishment from the sea! The guests can go there on foot or by bicycle, and enjoy the beach to fish on foot at low tide, or to relax and sunbathe on the sand when the tide rises.
Many cycle tracks and pedestrian pathways cross the Island of Oléron, from one side to the other. Ideal for a walk, or to make a trip on a horse or by bike to discover all aspects and the beauty of this island.
Renowned for its oysters and its salt marshes, the Island of Oléron also offers an important historical heritage. Typical example is the Citadel of Château d'Oléron and the walled city that surrounds it. This stronghold, fortified by Vauban, shows a typical military architecture of that time and served to protect the estuary of the Charente, entrance to the arsenal of Rochefort. Besides Oléron, other sites have hosted fortresses and citadels for this same purpose. Fort Boyard, located halfway between the Island of Oléron and the Island of Aix, is definitely the most famous one...
