This luxury holiday resort is located less than 40 kilometres to the East of Angoulême and over 70 kilometres to the West of Limoges and North of Périgueux. For a holiday in the middle of nature Bordered by the River, the 28-acres property composed of grassland and woods was formerly part of an old regional farm from the 18th century. Completely transformed and renovated with care, the different parts of the farm are today occupied by the reception, a gîte, a grocery store, a fresh bread service and the bar restaurant "Le Chambon" which proposes different dishes and menus, including salads and local specialities, like the succulent steak limousine!
The campsite Les Gorges du Chambon opened its doors more than thirty years ago and repeatedly changed owners, before to be left abandoned and re-opened in 1999. The current owners have turned it into a high-end holiday resort, where tourist can enjoy their stay in excellent conditions.
30 of the 132 pitches on the property are nowadays covered by comfortable rentals. Mobile homes, chalets, bungalows and EcoLogde tents are spread widely over the property, to avoid as much as possible any vis-a-vis and to offer the residents the luxury of space!
Between Charente and Perigord Vert Among the other campsite's facilities and equipments, we note the pool of 125 m² and a paddling pool, open since 2014. At 150 metres from the first mobile homes, a small natural and shady beach allows to swim in the river, to go fishing or even to put your canoe in the water in order to navigate down the Tardoire!
We also mention the playground for children, a mini golf, a tennis court and a beach volleyball field. In the immediate vicinity of this 4-star campsite in Charente, there's a centre for outdoor activities that opened its doors a few years ago.
