On this Hautes Alpes campsite, within a 12-hectare setting in the heart of nature, you can choose a lush pitch ranging from 80 to 200 m², with or without electricity. The most spacious of these even enable accommodation of up to 8 holidaymakers. if you're looking for a hint of the exotic in your holiday resort, you can choose a timber and canvas family lodge tent with two bedrooms, or Ciela Nature tent with garden furniture on a raised terrace for a romantic stay.
With a more conventional style, the mobile home rental remains a safe bet for families. Coming in the Classic, Family or Privilège ranges, they all have 2 to 3 bedrooms and a terrace, to make the most of days spent outdoors. The chalet holiday rental is also an intriguing alternative and particularly adapted to mountain stays. Spacious and comfortable, this highly delightful accommodation is equipped with a private green space. Make the most of the terrace to take a big breath of fresh mountain air.
On the programme: sports, games and nature trips for everyone
On-site, a swimming pool open in the high season, with children’s pool and water slide, enables you to cool down and relax. Moreover, this swimming pool is likely to be used, from time to time during the warmest summer days, for pool and water polo games. Those who wish to play sports on terra firma will have the choice of volleyball, basketball, fitness, or simply pétanque or table tennis. The setting for your stay, being mid-altitude, is also well adapted to loads of other activities you can try off site: canyoning, canoeing, climbing, potholing, microlight, or for something simpler mountain biking, hiking or horse riding.
Every summer, a kids club welcomes your children aged 5 to 12, offering diverse and varied activities in the heart of nature. They can meet at a teens club come the beginning of the stay, and then get together with other young holidaymakers for fun and sports activities, with activity leader supervision. On Les 2 Soleils, a team of activity leaders also arranges several themed evenings a week: karaoke nights, large group games, The Werewolves of Miller’s Hollow, concert…
On Les 2 Soleils campsite, we do everything we can to make life easier. A combined snack bar, bar and grocery is on hand, with a breakfast offering, dishes to eat in or take away, daily bread and pastries available to pre-order, and a selection of local produce and essentials. You can borrow books and board games at reception, which also offers fridge and barbecue hire, to make your stay easier. Lastly, free Wi-Fi is available for any stay on the campsite.
A mountainous region with Provencal charm
By staying on the Les 2 Soleils campsite, you’re in the small town of Serres, a medieval character town (Petite Cité de Caractère with an emphasis on its heritage, yet remaining contemporary and sustainable). You’re thus in the heart of the Baronnies Provençales regional natural park between Provence and the Alps. Nestling amid the Rocher de la Pignolette, a rugged rocky mountain, this town overlooks the valley and braided river, known as the Buëch. With lovely mediaeval houses, the church, clock tower and quaint streets, it is certainly worth a visit. Have a look around the market and be tempted by local specialities. As you leave the village, the landscaped Germanette lake is a fascinating stop. Having a swimming area with lifeguard supervision and water sports centre, your children will be delighted. A further lovely small town to visit, 35 minutes further south, is Sisteron. Dubbed the pearl of Haute Provence, this historic town by the Durance river, enjoys an exceptional natural panoramic view. Visit its cathedral, one of the largest religious buildings in Provence and the Citadel fortress, a genuine icon of the town from which you’ll have the loveliest view of the region and town below. Other charming villages include Laragne Montéglin, with the lovely Provençal market on Thursday mornings, or even all the hilltop villages in Provence surrounded by lavender and wheat fields, such as Rosans, Lagrand and many others...
Finally, in the height of summer, if you’re looking for coolness in the surrounding area, go to the Gorges de la Méouge gorge, south of Laragne Montéglin. These gorges connect the Drôme Provençale and Hautes-Alpes regions, by a short road meandering over 10 or so kilometres. Deep in the gorges, a river forms small basins in the limestone rock, where you can swim amidst a remarkable natural heritage. Pure delight!
