Les Rives de Condrieu, a luxury campsite close to Lyon
Les Rives de Condrieu, a family and welcoming campsite, nestlng on the so-called “île des pêcheurs” (“island of fishermen”) a little green setting on the banks of the Rhône, at the foot of the Pilat Natural Regional Park. Located just 800 metres from the village of Condrieu, these wooded grounds of 5 hectares are a perfect holiday resort, for a calming and delightful holiday, in harmony with the countryside.
During your holiday, take a refreshing break in the country…and go into the blue river
You will, first and foremost, enjoy your accommodation, a mobile home from the “Esprit”, “Elégance” or “Excellence” range, fully equipped, with a kitchen, a bathroom, from 1 to 3 bedrooms, and a wooden terrace laid out with a garden furniture set. The pitches are sufficiently separated and wooded, to guarantee your comfort and intimacy.
Then you will discover the water park, its 3 pools, including one heated, its paddling pool, and its spiral water slide, for children’s greatest delight. Aquagym classes are on offer every day by the sports manager in the activity team, as well as open-air fitness classes, for those who wish to let off steam. For players of sports, pétanque courts, table tennis and table football are raring to accommodate your wild games with friends. Not forgetting the multi-sports ground and the mini-golf, for children and adults alike.
Although children can also take advantage of these facilities, they will equally have time to go all over the play area, and make lots of new friends at the Pirate Club. The cheerful activity leaders’ task is to run and offer leisure, sports and creative activities to young holidaymakers, aged 5 to 12.
Recharge your batteries in the Rhône Valley
Do you know of the “ViaRhôna” cycle route? This cycle track, which links the banks of the Lac Léman lake to the beaches of the Mediterranean, passes right in front of this Condrieu campsite. You will thus easily be able to travel part of this route. You haven’t a bike? No problem as the campsite has a service hiring bicycles, and various mountain bikes. You will be able to pedal up to the Condrieu peninsula, climb up the Pilat massif, and to climb to the summit of the Mont Monnet peak, go and fish in the gentle waters or go to the Roches de Condrieu nautical base.
This leisure base will meet all of your expectations. You will be able to try wakeboarding and water skiing, do stand-up paddle boarding, play at being adventurers on an inflatable structure course, have fits of the giggles on a towed tube, or simply hire a floating terrace, and bask on your sunlounger, sailing along on the lake.
You can also cool down in the area set aside for swimming, with lifeguards present, picnic at the Les Roches de Condrieu river area, or have something to eat at the snack bar. Come the evening, you can speak of your water exploits to your friends at the campsite bar, before attending a show by the activity team, or show off your fine voice in karaoke!
The perfect destination for lovers of the countryside and heritage
Around 15 kilometres from the campsite, in the heart of the undulating landscapes in the Pilat Regional Natural Park, do not miss a visit to Sainte Croix en Jarez, also called the “Chartreuse du Pilat”. Part of the former religious building has become a village, and thanks to the work of a local association, you are able to visit its magnificent convent church, dating back to the 17th century and its outstanding furniture, the kitchen of the Carthusian monks, the large Cloister, and even a hermitage.
Or maybe you will allow yourself to be tempted by a gourmet trip to the Vienne market, the second largest market in France, with 6 kilometres of stalls. More than 400 market traders offer you fresh and seasonal fruit and vegetables, farm cheeses, cooked meats, and even exotic products. You can stroll in the city, have a drink opposite the Temple d’Auguste et Livie temple, and why not attend an open-air concert, in the town’s old Roman performing arts theatre?
Unless that is, you choose to see your children’s eyes light up at the sight of the 1000 animals of the “Safari de Peaugres” zoo, during a trip as a family, either on foot or by car.
For lovers of city trips, you’re only around 40 kilometres from Lyon. You can stroll in the Parc de la Tête d’Or park and gardens, visit Vieux-Lyon (the old town) and take the funicular up to the Fourvière district. You may also enjoy a glass of Côte-Rôtie wine (a northern Rhône appellation) on the terrace of a wine bar, before the return trip to the peace and serenity of your holiday residence.
