Nautic Almata, a high-end holiday resort between the sea and countryside
It is in Castelló d'Empúries, between the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà Natural Park and the Fluvià river, but also and especially opposite the Gulf of Roses and the Can Comes beach, that the Nautic Almata campsite is located. A genuine temple of rest and relaxation, this establishment on the Costa Brava is also overloaded with entertainment.
A campsite by the beach
Nautic Almata is one of the best campsites in Spain. Located in the heart of a natural park, by a river the waters of which flow just a stone’s throw from there into the Mediterranean, the campsite enjoys direct access to the beach. Situated opposite the magnificent Gulf of Roses, this establishment can boast offering its holidaymakers one of the most amazing surroundings in Catalonia.
Holidaymakers who can take advantage, during their stay, of lush grounds crossed by the multiple channels of the Fluvià river. This water course is a coastal river in Catalonia, the source of which is located 84 kilometres from the campsite in the mountains of the Collsacabra Natural Park. It crosses the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park and its waters percolate within the Empordà region, forming wetlands and channels within the humid zone, which is today protected and known as the Aiguamolls Natural Park.
The campsite extends over 17 hectares of a park accommodating traditional pitches, as well as a wide choice of holiday rentals. The plots have been laid out so as be able to accommodate campers and their tent, but also their caravan or camper. They are divided into a Standard range and a Superior range, the “Almata Plus” pitches, shaded and laid out by the beach over surface areas comprised of between 80 m² and 100 m². These plots enjoy a mains water point and an electrical connection.
A green campsite crossed by natural channels
The holiday rentals of the Nautic Almata campsite are divided up into well-equipped glamping lodges, “Canigó” tents, and luxury timber bungalows located opposite the channels, in areas acknowledged for their tranquillity. In addition the “Senillosa” villas offer living spaces of between 45 m² to 50 m².
By the water on the Fluvià river, pontoons have been laid out so as to accommodate small pleasure craft as well as holidaymakers’ jet skis! This is one of a multitude of services offered by this campsite on the Costa Brava. Amongst the latter, examples are reception, accommodating and guiding holidaymakers throughout their entire stay in Castelló d'Empúries, as well as a campers’ information office, where visits and activities can be booked in advance, and cars and bikes can even be hired.
As regards shops and other services, the Nautic Almata has an actual supermarket, where holidaymakers can also buy a wide variety of food products, national as well as international, a bakery, a shop selling souvenirs and beach articles, a newspaper stand, a laundry, a doctor's surgery and sanitary blocks.
Opposite the Gulf of Roses
To have something to eat and cool down, holidaymakers are spoilt for choice, within this Castelló d'Empúries campsite. On-site, there is a restaurant offering a delicious Mediterranean cuisine, a pizzeria, which has a menu offering a multitude of pizzas made on-site. but also salads, tapas dishes, or even roast chicken to enjoy either by eating in the restaurant or taking away. The campsite also has a crêperie offering sweet and savoury flavours, 2 beach bars, the “Disco Bar” where you can have a hamburger and a cold drink throughout the entire day, as well as the “Gola Bar” with a relaxed and musical atmosphere to make the most of summer evenings. Lastly, a third bar is within the vicinity of the campsite tennis courts.
These are part of the multitude of recreational and sports facilities on the Nautic Almata campsite. As, in addition to the tennis courts, the campsite has padel tennis courts, a mini-golf course, ping-pong tables, a basketball court, a beach volleyball court, a playground for the very young, an arcade video gaming room, as well as a superb water park.
The aquatic park, magnificently integrated into the green and wooded surroundings, comprises a very large swimming pool, part of which takes the form of an artificial beach which gently disappears into the water, slightly shallow so that children can make the most of the delights of water. Moreover, a whirlpool bath enables adults to relax. If they wish to do so, it is also possible to get a massage at the Nautic Almata campsite during their holiday.
On the beach, many nautical activities are on offer: sailing, sea kayaking, windsurfing and others. Moreover, there is a sailing school located on the sand opposite the campsite.
