Holiday rentals by the water amongst the beach, water park and multiple swimming pools
Situated opposite the beach, the campsite is located in a lush park with, come the summer, lawns welcoming swimmers with their towels and various suncreams. There are three pools. The first is solely set aside for young children, who can discover the delights of water in a very shallow swimming pool. The second is a swimming pool for youngsters (children and teenagers), who can have fun without hindering or bothering swimmers in the third swimming pool, specially set aside for this purpose.
A genuine temple of wellness the Ballena Alegre campsite spa accommodates, in a modern building with a futuristic design, numerous quality facilities. These include a sauna (dry heat of 85°C), steam bath (humid heat of 50°C) and salt room to enjoy the benefits of halotherapy. There is also an ice cabin, hydrotherapy pool with waterfalls, massage jets, swan necks, air beds, heated loungers and a massage centre. A perfect location to relax and feel good, during your stay on the Costa Brava.
Amongst the other leading facilities on the La Ballena Alegre campsite, there is a sports area with a multi-sports ground, football pitch, padel courts, tennis courts, skatepark, gym, fitness and spinning area and beach volleyball court. All through the season, the campsite activity team organizes a rich and varied programme of sports activities, such as sports tournaments on the beach, and aerobics, aquaerobics and spinning sessions etc.
Leading facilities in the Gulf of Roses
The campsite’s geographical location, opposite a sandy beach, provides optimum conditions for various water sports. The campsite has its own diving school, with beginners’ classes organized in the swimming pool but also trips to L’Escala and the Cap de Creus peninsula, its own sailing school and an “Ion Club” windsurfing shop, where you can hire equipment. There are also windsurfing and kitesurfing lessons on offer here!
As regards services, La Ballena Alegre has a supermarket, bakery, fishmonger’s shop, wine cellar, bookshop and souvenir and beach item shop. There is also a shop selling over-the counter medicines, beauty, diet and personal hygiene products, doctor’s surgery, laundry, hair and beauty salon, bike hire service, etc.
Moreover, several bars and restaurants have been established on the campsite. The Oasis and El Xiringuito both offer a panoramic view over the Mediterranean. The first notably serves rice-based cuisine, whilst the menu for the second includes numerous Italian dishes (pizzas, salads, fresh pasta, panna cotta (dessert with sweetened cream and gelatin, etc.). Holidaymakers can also go to a third self-service restaurant.
There are also on-site takeaway services and no less than 6 bars: the Oasis, El Xiringuito, the pool bar, La Barca, Chill Out “Oxygen”, where you can enjoy a musical atmosphere in the evening from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., and lastly Moby Dick, which also serves as a discotheque, where themed evenings or foam parties take place!
