For a couple’s retreat, choose the 12 m² Bell tent, with everything necessary for an unforgettable romantic stay. If you’re travelling with children, you’ll be able to choose between the Emperor Junior tent for 4 persons and the Emperor tent for 4 to 6 persons. They’re both equipped with double beds, a mini-fridge, indoor and outdoor lighting, electrical connection and mosquito net.
After a restful night lulled by the sweet melody of the waves, you’ll be able to have your breakfast at the “Beach Club” over a traditional “Pan Con Tomate” (Spanish tomato bread), pancakes or croissants. Come noon, make the most of a Caesar salad or hamburger with chips made by the chef, accompanied by a glass of wine or carafe of sangria. You’ll enjoy this convivial location, opposite the waters of the Ria de Vigo estuary.
An unforgettable seaside holiday
The campsite is located 5 minutes’ walk from the Tirán beach, which is easily accessible by taking a small delightful wooden staircase. This small sandy creek is protected against the wind and the water is crystal-clear and shallow here over several metres, which is ideal for children to play entirely safely. Nearby, there is also the largest white sandy beach at Canabal.
From the Kampaoh Ria de Vigo campsite, various hiking and cycling paths, enable you to go off to explore the region, starting with the village of Moaña with its 12th century San Martiño church and its delightful coastal path (Paseo Maritimo) which has sculptures and children’s play areas nearby.
During your stay in Vigo, don’t delay in trying new water sports, such as sea kayaking or stand-up paddle boarding. Enjoy the culinary specialities in Galicia, mainly focused around the sea. Seafood, empanadas (baked or fried pastry turnover with meat or fish filling), Cocido Gallego (Galician stew) or even chorizo (smoked spicy pork sausage) with potatoes.
Go off to explore Galicia
From Moaña, a ferry will take you to the port of Vigo, a dynamic maritime town surrounded by mountains, in 15 minutes. You’ll have a walk on Samil beach and then head towards the old town, including houses adorned with coats of arms.
You’ll also be able to go to Ourense, a spa town, crossed by the Miño river.
Lastly do not miss the final stage of the Road to Santiago de Compostela: the “Plaza del Obradoiro” square. This is an iconic location in Santiago de Compostela on which stands the magnificent cathedral, Raxoi Palace and luxurious Hostal de Los Reyes Catolicos (originally a hostelry and hospital, now a 5-star hotel), one of the oldest hotels in the world.
