These take the form of a series of waterfalls, rapids and giant pools, being one of the loveliest natural tourist sites in the Gard. Although swimming is prohibited in the rapids and pools, due to the risks, you can however swim upstream and downstream of this site, highly sought-after by the intrigued.
After an invigorating day in the great outdoors, go to the Slow Market to stock up on essentials, regional specialities and fresh bread and sweetbreads and buns for breakfast. Go through the Cèze valley between Cévennes and Provence

Go to the Salamandre cave, an enormous magical cavity, decorated with Crystal Giants and stalagmites, having colours and sounds. If your children are over 12, they can abseil here, down to 50 metres’ deep using a caving rope! Admire the sculpted facade of the Abbatiale de Saint Gilles abbey, a masterpiece of Romanesque art built at the end of the 12th century, and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Surrounded by vineyards and lavender fields, the village of Montclus enchants you with its medieval castle and keep, dominating the village, alleyways and arched passageways. Lovers of majestic landscapes can hike in the Cirque de Navacelles cirque, and enthusiasts of city trips can go to Nîmes and Avignon, not forgetting to go via the must-see Pont du Gard!
