Outstanding riverside setting

As a dream holiday resort nestling by the banks of the Verdon river and around 5 kilometres from the town centre of Gréoux les Bains, a commune of 2,600 inhabitants itself located downstream of the Lac d’Esparron, Verdon Parc is a luxury campsite in which superb pitches and quality holiday-hire accommodation are located.

The plots reserved on the campsite are, in the majority, both shaded and separated from each other by lush greenery. Having an area which is, to say the least, spacious, these pitches break down across four ranges: Nu Classique, Nu Classique +, Nu Privilège and Nu Privilège Club. This last range is the most comfortable, with its garden furniture set, arbour, private sanitary block, plancha, water point, electrical connection, drainage system for waste water and other facilities.

The holiday-hire accommodation in Verdon Parc is spread out over the rest of the campsite. Quality mobile homes and out-of-the-ordinary tents allow holidaymakers to stay in a superb setting on this Gorges du Verdon campsite. Perfectly integrated into the campsite’s green surroundings, these rentals are ideal to enjoy a wellness-focused stay in the great outdoors.

Amongst the most luxurious accommodation of this establishment, we note the mobile homes within the Privilège Club range, able to accommodate 4 to 6 individuals. Being modern and ultra-comfortable the latter are, to say the least, bright and suitably equipped. They have a shaded terrace, a godsend when you wish to eat outside in a region which is almost constantly drenched in sunshine!

For successful holidays at the entrance to the Gorges du Verdon

Although the idyllic setting of this exceptional campsite, located at the gateway to the Gorges du Verdon, is conducive to relaxation and laziness we find on-site, all the same, a multitude of sports and recreational facilities, such as tennis courts and a mini-farm for children, open in 2017!

Amongst the latter, Verdon Parc has a superb aquatic park made up of a semi-Olympic (25-metre) pool, an indoor heated poor with a paddling pool, a second outdoor paddling pool and large artificial beaches equipped with sunbeds for lovers of lazing in the sunshine. In 2017, the swimming area is expanding to ensure the greatest possible delight of holidaymakers. They can henceforth make the most of a splashpad, water slides, Jacuzzis in which to unwind and a redesigned bar, so as to enjoy the latter’s cool drinks even more!

It should be noted that it is also possible to go swimming in the Verdon river, the emerald waters of the river running alongside this campsite with an aquatic park in the Alpes de Haute Provence. Moreover, the natural beaches of the water course are just as popular with swimmers as holidaymakers wishing to get a tan.

On the shops and services front, the Verdon Parc campsite is not left behind at all On-site, holidaymakers can indeed take advantage of a grocery and a bakery open from dawn (so as to buy hot croissants, bread and newspapers every day). They can also make the most of a restaurant, a bar, a snack bar, an ice-cream seller, a library, a bicycle-hire service, a launderette, as well as Wi-Fi coverage across the whole of the site. Lastly, this establishment also has three mini-clubs open to children and teenagers.

The Verdon Gorge, one of the finest canyons in Europe

The campsites where the offerings are as high quality as in the Parc Naturel Régional du Verdon (Verdon Natural Regional Park) are indeed few and far between. This establishment is an exception in an area, amongst the most popular with tourists, in the north of the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region. With more than a million visitors per year, the Gorges du Verdon is indeed one of the main tourist sites of the south-east of France.

The deepest canyon in Europe, with its vertical sides sometimes reaching 700 metres high, the Gorges du Verdon is also considered as the most beautiful such rock formation in the Old Continent (Europe). It must be said that in the depths of the latter flow waters of an emerald green colour, unique of its kind and, to say the least, spellbinding.

Although countless hiking trails offer holidaymakers astounding views over this gorge, it remains a must to go down using a canoe or a kayak. Starting from Castellane and indeed until you reach the Lac de Sainte Croix (a winding lake), the countryside is magnificent and the descent is achieved entirely smoothly, simply by the rhythm of the current and your paddle.

The Lac d’Esparron, a stone’s throw from the campsite is, just as are Sainte Croix and Castillon, a popular spot for lovers of nautical sports, and in particular surfing. The lake’s wide expanse also provides ample space for swimmers, who can spread out their towels on the landscaped beaches along its shores.

Lastly also note that, as it name indicates, the commune of Gréoux les Bains has been a spa town since the Roman era. A free shuttle bus allows those taking the waters (at the spa), who wish to stay at the campsite, to travel between the latter and the thermal baths of Gréoux les Bains from March to June and September to the end of October. The town is also renowned for its hospitable château and its casino.
