These may be as holidaymakers choose sun-drenched, semi-shaded or fully shaded. They all have a 16-amp electrical connection and the site is equipped with several sanitary blocks, notably having self-cleaning WCs. The holiday rentals consist of mobile homes and lodge tents perfectly meeting the needs of comfort and glamping lovers!
On the International campsite, the mobile homes are modern and well equipped. The most high-end even have a private Jacuzzi on the terrace, and all mobile homes come with air conditioning! A welcome facility during warm summer days often experienced within this region in the south of France…
A water park with water slides to have fun and cool down
For something to eat, holidaymakers staying on this establishment can go to the campsite’s bar restaurant. It is open from 1st June to 31st August and the menu is highly varied, equally including pizzas and regional specialities! Worth noting that some dishes are available to take away and that the shaded terrace enables you to enjoy concerts and shows on some summer evenings. For gourmets the village of Aups, the regional capital of the truffle, has a Provençal market every Wednesday and Saturday morning. From mid-June to the end of August, Wednesday morning also provides an opportunity to discover the white truffle market (the black truffle market takes place on the last Thursday of each month from November to the end of March).
To relax, have fun and of course cool down, what better than heading for the water park on the International campsite in Aups. With the heated swimming pool, children’s play paddling pool, aqua-play area and thrill-seeker water slides, this facility is highly sought-after by holidaymakers, who can also rest on the numerous sunloungers by the pools, sunbathe and read a magazine or good book…
Moreover, this establishment also has other recreational facilities, such as a multi-sport ground, boules court, children’s play area with teeter-totters, slides and a small climbing wall, an activity course (including archery) etc. Furthermore, during the high season, various forms of entertainment are on offer for young and old alike, taking place during the day and evening in equal measure.
The Verdon Regional Nature Park, a gem in Provence
Thanks to the International campsite, you’ll be able to go off and explore the treasures of the Verdon Regional Nature Park. This region covering a 188,000-hectare surface area straddles the departments of the Var and the Alpes de Hautes Provence. Within the heart of this area flows a river, whose waters have for thousands of years hewn into the rock of the Pre-Alps, the most beautiful and deepest gorge in Europe: the Verdon.
A member of the Grands Sites de France network (a designation protecting natural, heritage and picturesque sites), the Verdon gorge welcomes nearly 700,000 visitors per year. The canyon measures nearly 33 kilometres, which you can explore on foot or by car (numerous panoramic views have been laid out along the Route des Crêtes mountain road of the so-called “Grand Canyon”). Some sections can be explored by canoe (various routes are on offer for a day or half-day from hire companies, over a total of 80 kilometres of river). Hence everyone can admire here and there rocky walls with heights of 400 to 700 metres! The waters of the Verdon river, with their distinctive colour, also tempt you to swim.
Several dams have been developed on the Verdon river. These have caused the formation of several artificial lakes of which the largest, the Saint Croix and Esparron lakes, have now become exceptional tourist sites with their sandy and pebble beaches, their canoe, kayak and pedalo hirers etc. With a surface area of 160 hectares, the Lac de Sainte Croix is the nearest to the International campsite. It is just half an hour’s drive to cover the 22 kilometres between Aups and this lake…
