Le Domaine de la Sainte Baume, luxury campsite between Provence and Mediterranean
Within the inland countryside of the Var nestles a campsite which has no reason to envy its counterparts on the French Riviera. The Domaine de la Sainte Baume, called thus referring to the neighbouring Massif de la Sainte Baume mountain range, is a 4-star campsite in Nans les Pins, which is a member of the Tohapi group. A high-end establishment, it stretches out over a 9-hectare area, less than an hour's drive from the leading beaches and rocky inlets (calanques) of the Côte d'Azur coastline…
A 4-star campsite located inland in the Var country
Located on the outskirts of Nans les Pins, a Provençal village situated very close to the road linking Aubagne in the Bouches du Rhône to Brignoles in the Var, the Domaine de la Sainte Baume campsite enjoys an ideal position between Provence and the Côte d'Azur, Les Calanques and the Gorges du Verdon gorges. The 250 pitches of this high-end campsite are spread over the 9-acres wooded property, and offer tourists the possibility to install their tent, caravan or camper on medium-sized surfaces of 100 m², shaded by beautiful oaks and other maritime pines.
Le Domaine de la Sainte Baume also offers a wide range of modern and well-equipped quality mobile homes. The smallest were specially designed to accommodate couples, the largest are for large families or groups of friends wishing to spend their holiday all together. They provide all the necessary equipments to spend a great holiday in the Provence, especially as they all feature large semi shaded terraces to enjoy outdoor meals.
The campsite also offers many facilities to campers, like a grocery store, a laundromat, a restaurant, a take away service, etc. Collective barbecues are also spread across the campsite. However, the use of these is regulated, especially during the dry periods, frequent in this region.
In the heart of Provence
The Domaine de la Sainte Baume, a 4-star campsite in Provence, has quality facilities, beginning with its water park including 3 pools, two of which are heated. There is also a bubble bath and a toboggan with three tracks to amuse the little ones. They can also enjoy a paddling pool, with waterfalls and various water games. One of the pools of this water park in the Var is used for aquagym and fitness sessions.
Besides a multi sports ground, le Domaine de la Sainte Baume proposes several other leisure facilities allowing campers to dabble in archery, climbing, table tennis, tennis, jeu-de-boules, or even mini-golf. Hikes and walks through the Provence are also organized by the campsite.
Also, please note that parents who wish so can leave their kids at the mini club of the campsite. The Maison de Topi (the Topi Club mini-club) accommodates children aged 4 to 13 and organizes numerous play and sports activities for them. There are a multitude of activities offered to teenagers aged 14 to 18. Once a week, trips out are planned: quad biking activities, water sports activities and others.
When children are thus occupied, adults can go to the Oasis Bien-être (wellness oasis), the spa and relaxation area of the campsite. Having a surface area of 160 m², it is equipped with a Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, body and facial treatments area and massage rooms.
Just a stone’s throw from the Mediterranean
Nestled, as its name suggests, in the heart of the Sainte Baume massif, the department’s highest peak, this luxury campsite in Provence is a perfect holiday resort for those wishing to discover the inland Côte d'Azur countryside and make the most of the peace and quality of life that the Nans les Pins region has to offer. Green holiday resort, this community is home to a traditional Provençal square, surrounded by magnificent plane trees and where the market takes place every Sunday.
Around Nans les Pins, there are many hiking trails winding through the forest and the scrubland, providing magnificent views on the Sainte Baume Massif and the Mont Aurélien. The most famous trail is undoubtedly the 'Chemin des Rois', a pilgrimage trail which has been taken for centuries by Kings, Queens, Popes and simple pilgrims to get to Sainte Baume, after having bowed on the grave of Marie Madeleine in Saint Maximin.
At three kilometres from the campsite there's even a 18-hole golf course and at 45 kilometres we find the cities of Marseille and Aix en Provence, while the port of Toulon and the calanques of Cassis are barely further away. At last, you can visit the famous gorges du Verdon, from Nans les Pins it takes two hours by car to get there.
