Les Hautes Prairies, a 4 star campsite in the Luberon region
Some 800 metres from the centre of Lourmarin, a member of the “Plus Beaux Villages de France” association (an architectural and heritage designation), in the heart of the Luberon Regional Nature Park, the Les Hautes Prairies campsite is located. The Les Hautes Prairies campsite is an establishment on a human scale, with a family atmosphere. Located near Lourmarin, whose streets oozing charm and stone houses make this one of the loveliest villages in the country, it occupies semi-wooded and lush grounds where peace and tranquillity reign supreme. The traditional camping and caravanning pitches enjoy an average surface area of 100 m². They’re all delineated by hedges and the majority of them are well shaded. Please also note that they all have a mains electrical connection, and can equally accommodate tents, caravans, campers and other converted vans.
As regards holiday rentals, there are eight ranges of mobile homes on offer to holidaymakers on the Les Hautes Prairies campsite. All of them have a different layout to meet all wants and needs. With 1 to 3 bedrooms, they can accommodate from 2 to 6 persons. The most luxurious are even equipped with a private Jacuzzi on their terrace!
A superb water park for children and adults alike

Furthermore, this water park is most certainly one of the loveliest in the Luberon region. Offering a panoramic view over the surrounding hills, it consists of a large 350 m² heated swimming pool, paddling pool with water games, Jacuzzi, three-lane multi-slide and large thrill-seeker water slide.
During the two months of the high season, swimming is supervised by lifeguards and activities take place in the large pool: aquaerobics sessions, water polo tournaments, hooking a giant duck, evening swims, etc. Equally on dry land throughout the summer, a multitude of activities for children and adults alike are organised. From volleyball to pétanque tournaments, not forgetting treasure hunts, karaoke nights and DJ evenings. These offer holidaymakers the chance to have fun from morning ‘til night, throughout their entire stay.
Discover the Luberon region from the Les Hautes Prairies campsite
The Les Hautes Prairies campsite proves to be ideal for anyone wishing to discover the magnificent Luberon countryside. Near the campsite, those intrigued can start by venturing through the old streets of the village of Lourmarin, and visit the castle designated as a Monument Historique (ensuring its preservation as a historic building). Individuals as renowned as Albert Camus and Henri Bosco (French authors) and Raoul Dautry (a French businessman and politician) lived in this village and are buried in the cemetery.
Some 30 kilometres from Lourmarin, between the Luberon and Monts du Vaucluse mountain ranges, is one of the loveliest tourist attractions in Provence. In Rustrel, the “Provençal Colorado” is a former opencast ochre quarry occupying a surface area of 30 hectares, and nowadays offering natural landscapes straight out of the Far West! In Roussillon, a village located respectively 24 kilometres from the campsite and 20 kilometres from Rustrel, the “Sentier des Ocres” (Ochre Trail) offers a similar landscape, which a walk enables you to enjoy from every angle.
In the Vaucluse department, the Luberon is equally renowned for the magnificent lavender fields. This flower, also dubbed “The Blue Gold of Provence”, is cultivated in fields shaping the landscape as around the Abbaye de Sénanque abbey, the Plateau des Claparèdes plateau and villages of Saignon and Lioux.
