Edy, a luxury campsite on the Riviera del Fiori
On the Italian Riviera, also known by the name Riviera del Fiori (after the long-established flower industry), in the heart of an olive grove laid out in terraces overlooking the town of Diano Marina, the delightful Edy campsite is located. Come and spend your next holiday within the 25 hectares of a lush outdoor establishment, only 600 metres from the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
A countryside campsite in Liguria
In the central part of the campsite, there is a large swimming pool with a sunbathing area, Jacuzzi and counter-current swimming pool. It is open from 9.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. in June, July and August. Adjoining the swimming pool, a bar accommodates you on the large shaded terrace from breakfast until your evening meal from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Here you can also buy fresh bread every morning.
Below, you can go to the Bagni Bianca large beach, owing to a free shuttle bus. This long sandy beach offers children the chance to play by the shallow water, whilst adults make the most of the sunshine on their sunloungers. A snack bar on the beach allows you to have something to eat, get a cold drink or enjoy an ice cream.
To accommodate you during your stay in Liguria, the cosy mobile homes immersed in the olive grove and able to accommodate 2 to 6 persons with an equipped kitchen, heating, air conditioning and private terrace await you. Campers and camper van enthusiasts can choose between pitches with a surface area of 85 to 95 m², equipped with mains water and an electrical connection.
A revitalizing holiday in the Diano Marina sunshine
During the high season, an activity team accommodates children for play and creative activities. They also have the delight of having fun in the play area set aside for them, with slides, a trampoline, swings etc. Come the evening, pool games, summer dancing and dancing classes are on the programme.
As regards sports, in addition to daily aquaerobics sessions on offer to holidaymakers, this campsite in Liguria has a tennis court, 5-a-side football pitch, table football and ping-pong tables. Not forgetting a gym with a view over the olive grove, for body-building exercises or treadmill workouts. At the sailing club in Diano Marina, which is located not far from here, you can also go sailing and windsurfing.
Owing to the bicycle hire service offered by the Edy campsite, you can take the “San Lorenzo al Mare” trail with its 24 kilometres of cycle paths running alongside the sea. Don’t forget your swimwear, as you might want to treat yourself to a swim in one of the numerous small creeks which border the path. Lovers of trekking are not left out, as multiple hiking trails meander through the Diano Marina region.
The Riviera del Fiori is open to you
During your stay on the Edy campsite, start by discovering the seaside resort of Diano Marina, its Roman architecture, restaurants and enjoy the delicious local products, such as olives in brine, basil or olive oil. Next visit the medieval village of Diano Castello. A little further on, you’ll come across the coastal town of San Remo. You’ll love the old olive groves, palm trees and Japanese Garden within the Villa Ormond’s park or the 12 bells in the 12th century San Siro cathedral. Equally the town’s magnificent Russian Orthodox Church will appeal to you.
In the Borghetto Santo Spirito hinterland are the mysterious Toirano caves. The most impressive of these, the Witch’s cave (Grotta Della Basura) was a habitat for cave bears. You’ll see numerous bones and pawprints, evidencing their presence. Do you prefer watching the horizon? Have a boat trip from Imperia or Andora, and go off in search of whales, off the Gulf of Diano.
Venture as far as the “Centro Storico” (historical centre) in Genoa, a labyrinth of narrow alleyways, statues of the Virgin Mary and magnificent palaces dating back to the Renaissance. Walk past the San Lorenzo cathedral, cross the lovely Piazza San Matteo square, and visit the must-see aquarium in the shape of an ocean liner. After being filled with wonder by the 71 pools and 15,000 aquatic animals living here, end your day with an apéritif in the port before returning to the campsite after a lovely day of trips.
